Welcome to the Student Abstract column. I would like to introduce Glenna Hennessey to the newsletter readers. Glenna is from Newport, Rhode Island. She received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from Stonehill College, North Easton, Massachusetts. She is completing a double Masters Degree Program in Speech Pathology and Audiology at Northeastern University, Boston Massachusetts. Glenna is very interested in pediatric and adult populations in rehabilitation settings.
When radiographic and endo-scopic examinations reveal no mechanical cause for a patient’s gas-troesophageal disease (GERD), that patient is thought to have nonob-structive dysphagia, second to esophageal peristaltic abnormalities. Typical symptoms include dysphagia, heartburn, and regurgitation. The objectives of this study were:
