Pediatric Dysphagia 101: Feeding/Swallowing Development and Its Disorders

This session will review dysphagia terminology, normal feeding/swallowing development, common etiologies of pediatric dysphagia, components of the pediatric feeding/swallowing evaluation, and management strategies. Participants will be encouraged to use a “problem-solving” approach for the evaluation and management of infants and children with swallowing disorders. Case presentations will provide the framework for this discussion.
