Editor’s Note: In each newsletter issue this year the role of a different committee of Division 13 will be highlighted. This month, Paula Sullivan, Immediate Past Division 13 Coordinator, focuses on the Steering Committee.
Artist Andy Warhol provided an often revealing commentary on American society through his signature style of using commercial silk screening techniques to create identical, mass produced images on canvas. However, his use of variations in color to give each print of an image a different look reflected his recognition of the importance of the unique nature and power of change. This philosophy is further reflected in his observation, “They say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.” I feel this philosophy embodies one of the major benefits and rewards of serving as a member of Division 13’s Steering Committee. That is, having the opportunity to effect change for affiliates and those we serve within our specialty area of practice.
