As 2003—ASHA’s Year of the Volunteer—approaches its end, I take great pride in recognizing the many Division 13 affiliates whose contributions of time and talent have helped to made our division the largest division, ensure our fiscal stability, and build our programs, including publication of our fine newsletter! During the past year, affiliate involvement reached an all-time high, resulting in the completion of nearly 40 major initiatives.
Currently, D13 has nearly 3,000 affiliates. Due to strategic planning, careful budget oversight, and a large affiliate dues base, Division reserve funds reached the quarter million mark this year. Non-dues revenue sources increased with the addition of new revenue sources, including continuing education co-sponsorship and newsletter advertising.
