Newsletter Editor Neil McKaig has asked me to deliver a “farewell address,” instead of my usual Coordinator's Column. I think I will combine the two. A farewell address seems a bit pretentious, and I need to give my report, so, I will give you an update on division activities as I ordinarily do in my column and include some reflections on my tenure as Coordinator.
Over the past 3 years, during my service as Coordinator, we have grown in numbers, in wisdom, and in age. I loved being in the middle of the politics, the competition, the challenges of intellectual debates, and everything else that the world of ASHA and dysphagia has to offer. I loved having the biggest budget of any Coordinator at our ASHA meetings so I could gloat!
