For the second year, ASHA is making funds available to support students interested in exploring careers in research and teaching in higher education. Stipends of up to $2,500 are available for students to arrange brief research associations with communication sciences and disorders researchers around the country. ASHA’s Research in Higher Education Mentoring Program gives undergraduate and master’s students a chance to find out more about the research process “up close and personal” by establishing short-term (i.e., 1- to-2-week) mentor relationships with scientists by visiting their laboratories and observing and/or participating in their ongoing research. Stipends of up to $1,000 will also be available to the mentors ($500 for each week during which a student is a visitor, up to 2 weeks).
